After years of development, testing, building and refining, the Rapsody R35 V-Foil® is finally on the water. A proud moment for everyone at Rapsody Yachts and, above all, for the team that turned an ambitious idea into a real boat. Sea trials are now open in Enkhuizen, and the R35 will make her first public appearance at HISWA te Water.
Some moments are difficult to put into words. Seeing the first Rapsody R35 on the water was one of them. Not because everything suddenly changed overnight. Quite the opposite. This moment is the result of years of work.
The R35 started with an ambitious idea: could we build a Rapsody that still feels unmistakably like a Rapsody, but takes a completely different approach below the waterline?
Together with Simonis Voogd Design, we developed the V-Foil® hull. A new underwater hull designed to reduce resistance and trim, while improving efficiency, stability and comfort. On paper, the idea was promising. But boats aren’t built on paper.
They are built by people.
Years of work behind one boat
Bringing the R35 to life meant designing, calculating, building, changing things, testing them and sometimes going back to the drawing board.
There were long days at the yard. Discussions over details most people will probably never notice. Parts that worked immediately and others that needed another solution. That’s part of building something genuinely new.
And throughout that process, the goal remained simple: build the best Rapsody we know how to build.
That’s why we’re especially proud of our team.
The R35 is not the result of one big idea or one person. It is the result of designers, engineers, craftsmen, suppliers and our own team working together for years. Hands on the boat, feet firmly on the ground.
Now, finally, she is here.
The first R35 is on the water
Seeing the finished R35 leave the yard and take to the water for the first time was special. Above the waterline, she has the lines and character that have always defined Rapsody. Below it sits something completely new: the V-Foil® hull.
But the most important part now is not what we say about her. It’s how she feels on the water. And that is something we’d rather let people experience for themselves.
Sea trials are now open
The first Rapsody R35 is now based in Enkhuizen, where we have opened sea trials for prospective owners. This is an opportunity to step aboard, meet our team and experience the R35 where she belongs: out on the water.
No renderings. No promises on paper. The real boat.
See her for the first time at HISWA te Water
Before that, there is another milestone we’re very much looking forward to. The Rapsody R35 will be presented to the public for the first time at HISWA te Water.
After years of working behind the scenes, we can finally show everyone what we’ve been working on. We’re proud of the result. But even more proud of the people who made it happen.
The Rapsody R35 V-Foil® is here.
And this is only the beginning.
